National Park Week

Presidential proclamations of National Park Week appear each year around this time and provide an opportunity to look at, among other things, presidential rhetoric and focus. National monuments are often referred to in these National Park Week proclamations, another sign that monuments matter as touchstones of the nation’s history and policy choices.
