The Monuments

These sections provide a chronological compilation of presidential use of the Antiquities Act.

To support Antiquities Act research, the proclamations are divided to reflect 1) presidential use of the Act to establish national monuments and 2) presidential use of the Act to modify national monuments.

References within these sections to the “NPS Antiquities Act Centennial list” may also be useful to Antiquities Act researchers. The NPS Antiquities Act Centennial list is an online resource developed by the National Park Service in anticipation of the centennial celebration of the Antiquities Act. The NPS Antiquities Act Centennial list can be found at:

Information about national monuments not found within these sections may be available in the Monuments News section of this web site, especially for those doing research regarding current national monument activities.
